1.4kg gold seized at Dhaka airport

Staff Correspondent: Customs intelligence seized 12 gold bars weighing 1.4 kilogrammes from seven passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday.

Customs intelligence sources said that acting on a tip-off, a team of customs intelligence conducted a search on BG Riyadh 040 coming from Saudi Arabia soon after it landed at the airport. Meanwhile, the law enforcers found the gold bars searching seven passengers in the flight.

The passengers are- Mosharraf Hossain, Babul Mia, Farman Ali, Fazlul Huq, Rabiul Islam, Alam Mia and Abdullah Al Mahfuz.

The market price of the seized gold is approximately Tk 69.60 lakh.
