1.5 lakh families to get VGF rice in Rajshahi

Staff Corresondent, Rajshahi: Arount 1.5 lakh poor and distressed families will get rice under Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) programme to mark the celebration of the holy Eid-ul-Azha festival.

Each families will get 15 kg rice under the programme of Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Rajshahi district relief and rehabilitation office sources said, the number of beneficiaries is 1,49057 in nine upazilas of Rajshahi. A total of 1575.356 metric tonnes of rice were allotted to them. Already the rice has been sent to upazilas. The distribution process will be completed before the Eid-ul-Fitr.

District relief and rehabilitation said, under the programme, 283.215 tonnes of rice will be distributed to 18,881 families in Godagari, 159.840 tonnes to 10,657 families in Tanore, 263.085 tonnes to 17,509 families in Bagmara, 132 tonnes to 8,100 families in Bagha, and 145.425 tonnes to 9,695 families in Puthia.
