11th span of Padma Bridge to be installed tomorrow

Secretariat Correspondent: The construction of Padma Bridge is in full swing. The 11th span (superstructure) of the much-awaited Bridge will be installed at its Jajira end on Tuesday.

Following the installation of 11th span, 1,650 metres of the bridge will be visible. Already the span has been taken to the spot. The span will be placed between the pillars 33 and 34 of the bridge near its Mawa end in Munshiganj.

Earlier on April 10, the 10th span was installed at Mawa side of the bridge.

The engineers of the main Padma Bridge on Monday said, the construction work of 247 piles setting have been completed already. Fifty per cent work of 15 piles of the remaining 47 piles has already been finished. There will be 42 poles in 294 piles. The construction of 22 poles of 42 poles has been finished. The construction of more 10 poles will be completed by June this year. Then, the installation work will get speed.
