13 pirates held, 7 fishermen rescued from Cox's Bazar

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: Coast Guard personnel detained 13 pirates from Kutubdia-Matarbari channel of Bay of Bengal on Sunday night.

The identity of the detainees could not be known immediately.

Sources said that the law enforcers conducted a drive in the area around 9:00pm and detained the robbers with lethal weapons and fire arms. Meanwhile, Coast Guards also rescued seven fishermen with a boat.

Confirming the matter, Coast Guard's East Zone officer lieutenant commander Omar Faruk said two round bullets, 10 sharp weapons, 10 mobile phones and Tk.6,000 cash were recovered from the boat of robbers.
