153 stranded Bangladeshis return home from Dubai

A special flight of US-Bangla Airlines brought back 153 Bangladeshi nationals who were stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to coronavirus or Covid-19 pandemic.

US-Bangla General Manager (public relations) Kamrul Islam confirmed the matter.

US-Bangla Airlines has operated the special flight under the auspices of Bangladesh Air Force Welfare Trust to facilitate the repatriation of Bangladeshi expatriates stranded in Dubai, he said adding that every passenger from Dubai carried a coronavirus negative certificate.

The special flight was operated on the Dubai-Dhaka route with US-Bangla Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

A large number of expatriate Bangladeshis have remained stranded in various countries of the world for last four months due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
