Staff Correspondent: At least 180 houses were gutted in a fire broke out at the workers colony in Chakrawarty area of the city early Thursday.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a tin-shed room of the colony and spread soon, according to officer of EPZ Fire Service and Civil Defence Md Abdul Hamid.
On information, five firefighting units from Kaliakoir and Savar EPZ stations went to the spot and doused the blaze with an effort of two hours.
