1,86,240 freedom fighters getting allowances

Parliament Correspondent: Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said 1,86,240 freedom fighters (FF) are getting monthly allowance of Tk 10,000. Apart from this, they are also receiving two festival bonuses each equal to their main allowance.

The Minister on Tuesday came up with the information in the parliament session in reply to a written question placed by Salim Uddin Tarafder of Naogaon-3.

He said, “The freedom fighters are also being provided Tk 2,000 (20 percent of the allowance) as Bangla New Year bonus while all alive freedom fighters are being given Tk 5,000 (50 percent of the allowance) as victory day bonus since 2018-19 fiscal year.”

In reply to a question made Monirul Islam, the Minister said, “2,961 houses have been made for landless freedom fighters across the country.”
