Staff Correspondent: Two children drowned at a pond in Painshail area of Bhawal Mirzapur under Gazipur Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Md Hossain Ali (6), son of Monir Hossain alias Ponir, and Md Sowan (6), son of Harun-or-Rashid.
According to sources, the two children were playing near an abandoned pond at noon. At that time they fell into it and drowned in the water.
At one stage of search, locals recovered the bodies of two children from the pond.
