2 killed as bus hits tree in Comilla

Staff Correspondent, Comilla: Two people including the driver were killed and 10 others were injured as a bus hit a roadside tree in front of Haji Tower adjacent to Palki Cinema Hall of the district's Chandina Upazila on Wednesday midnight.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Monirul Islam, In-Charge of Eliyotganj Police Outpost, confirmed the news.

He said, "A Chandpur-bound bus from Dhaka hit a roadside tree after losing control on Wednesday midnight, leaving two including the driver of the bus dead on the spot and 10 injured.

The bodies were sent to morgue for autopsy. The  injured were admitted to different local hospitals, he added.
