2 minor siblings drown in Jashore

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: Two minor siblings drowned in a pond in Shikarpur village of Lakkhonpur union under Sharsha upazila of the district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Rezoyan, 7 and Maria, 6, children of Kamrul Islam.

Union Parishad member Abdul said finding no trace of the siblings, the family members started searching them around 12:00pm on Friday. At one stage, locals rescued them from a pond adjacent to their house.

Later, the victims were sent to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared them dead.

Porpara police camp in-charge Sub-Inspector Sheikh Lutfar Rahman confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
