20 gold bars seized from rectum at Dhaka airport

Staff Correspondent: Customs officials arrested two China returned passengers along with 20 gold bars weighing 2.2 kilogram worth about Tk1.1 crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The two passengers are identified as Maksudur Rahman and Mohammad Shakil Mollah.
Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Dr. Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter.
Customs sources said that the law enforcers, acting on a tip-off, searched the duo but nothing was found immediately. Later, they were taken to archway and existence of metal found then.
During interrogation, they confessed that they were carrying gold bars in their rectum.
