24 teachers resign from administrative posts

Staff Correspondent: Some 24 teachers of Comilla University stepped down from their posts as the authority did not meet their six-point demands.

Teachers Somity President Dr Abu Taher said that they submitted their resign letters to the University Registrar Mujibur Rahman Mazumdar.

Following the matter, Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr. Ali Ashraf said the authority is trying to solve over the problems.

Earlier on January 22, the university teachers went on a work abstention boycotting classes and examinations to press home their six-point demand, including the arrest of those involved in the killing of a BCL leader, who was shot to death by some miscreants on July 30, 2016, and those attacked two university teachers recently.
