27.77 lakh students sit for PEC exams

Staff Correspondent: A total of 2,777,270 students are taking the Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee examinations at 7,410 examination centres across the country this year.

This time, there will be no MCQ type question in the examination. The number of this year’s examinees is 23,472 higher than that of last year.

The two and a half hours tests will start at 10:30am and end at 1:00pm. Disabled students will also be granted 30 extra minutes for their exams.

Primary and mass education minister Mostafizur Rahman said that the result of this year’s examination would be announced before election.

“We hope there will be no problem to announce the result. Already a vigilance teams have been formed to inspect the examination activities. Deputy Commissioner, police super, district primary education officer and upazila nirbahi officers are directed to ensure security,” he said.
