3 held with firearms in Chattogram

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained three muggers with firearms from Gulzar Tower of Chakbazar area of the district town on Sunday morning.

The detainees are- Mohammad Sakib, 21, Fahim, 21 and Saiful Islam.

RAB-7 assistant director (media) Mimtanur Rahman said the law enforcers were alert over muggers as the mugging incidents increased in the port city in alarming rate. Following the awareness, RAB conducted a drive in the area and detained them. Later, a one-shooter gun, two rounds of bullets, two cocktails and a knife were seized from their possession.

The detainees had confessed to the crime.
