Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: At least three people including a Rohingya woman were killed in separate two ‘gunfights’ with police and BGB members early Sunday.
One gunfight took place with police in Moulvibazar area and another with BGB in Omarkhal area.
Six LGs, 20,000 Yaba pills and 18 cartridges were also recovered from the spots.
Pradip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, said two suspected drug peddlers were killed in a gunfight with police at Moulvibazar of the upazila.
He said that a team of police conducted a drive after being tipped off about the presence of a drug peddlers’gang. They opened fire as soon as the police team reached the site, triggering a skirmish.
“We rescued two-bullet men and they were sent to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared them dead”, he added.
In another incident, a woman was killed in a ‘gunfight’ between yaba traders and BGB men in the upazila.
