3 of a family get life for murder in Kushtia

Kushtia Correspondent: A court in Kushtia has sentenced three people of a family to life term imprisonment for killing a youth in Bheramara upazila of Kushtia.

Judge Arup Kumar Goshwami of Kushtia District and Sessions Judge’s court handed down the verdict in presence of the convicts around 1:30pm on Thursday.

The convicts are- Marjina Khatun, 70, wife of one (Late) Nagar Mistri of Hisnapara area of Bheramara upazila, their son Abdul Mannan, 52 and his wife Merina Khatun, 40.

Hazrat Ali, another accused in the case, was acquitted of the charges brought against him.

According to court sources, one youth Khairul was beaten injured by the convicts following a dispute on August 24 in 2013. Khairul died on way to hospital. Later victim’s elder brother Amirul Islam filed a murder case with Bheramara police station. After conducting investigation, police filed charge-sheet in court on January 17 in 2015.
