3 top drug traders killed Chattogram gunfight

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Three suspected top drug traders were killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in city’s Khulshi area early Thursday.

Of the deceased two were identified as Jakir Hossain, 31, and Dalim Sheikh, 32, and another one remained unidentified instantly. 

Mimtanur Rahman, assistant director (media) of RAB-7 confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

RAB said, acting on tip-off that drugs were being carried in a private car, a team of RAB-7 conducted a drive in the area and stopped a car. But, miscreants opened aiming RAB personnel from the car. In reply, RAB also opened, leaving three people injured.

Later, the injured were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared them dead.

RAB members recovered the bodies along with 120 kgs hemp, two firearms and bullets from the car.
