34 gold bars seized at Benapole

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized 34 pieces of gold bars, weighing 4 kg, from Benapole on Friday morning.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-49 conducted a drive in Benapole kitchen market area and seized the gold bars worth Tk 1.70 crore in an abandoned condition, said Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Haq, commanding officer of BGB-49.

No one was arrested in this connection as the smugglers managed to flee the scene, he added.
