3 BCL leaders expelled over torturing student

Three leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have been expelled for an overnight torture of a first-year student of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU).

The University Board of Residence and Disciplinary Committee at a meeting has expelled the students for six months.

The information was disclosed at a notice signed by the university registrar on Tuesday.

The expelled students are vice-president of Shaheed Jamal Hossain Hall unit of BCL, Abdullah Hish Shafi, library and publicity secretary, and Shahadat Hossain Shaon, library secretary.

On the night of August 5, the BCL leaders tortured and beat up a first-year student named Maksudul Emu for allegedly not saluting the president of hall.
Proctor Professor Dr Md. Azharul Haque said no one would be spared for wrongdoing.
