4 killed in Sundarbans ‘gunfight’

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: Four suspected robbers were killed in a gunfight in Chandpai range of Sundarbans today.
All the deceased were members of a robber gang, locally known as ‘Hasan Bahini’, according to a source at Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The RAB team was on its regular patrol last night when a group of robbers opened fire on them triggering a “gunfight” in retaliation.
At one point of the “gunfight”, the robbers fled the scene.
RAB recovered a huge cache of weapons and ammunition from the spot.
Identities of the deceased and other details about the incident could not be known immediately.
