43 Jamaat-Shibir men held in Narayanganj

Staff Correspondent: Police detained 43 Jamaat-Shibir activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir from a Chinese restaurant at Sonargaon of Narayanganj on Saturday morning.
The identity of the detainees could not be known immediately.
Sonargaon police station Officer-in-Charge Morshed Alam said that said that acting on a tip off a team of police cordoned the restaurant around 10:00am. Meanwhile, the Shibir men hurled broken glasses. At one stage, police fired couple of rounds blank shots and detained them.
Jihadi books, leaflets and banners were seized from the spot, he added.
