4th span installed, now 600 meters of Padma Bridge visible

Munshiganj Correspondent: The fourth span of the much-hyped Padma Bridge has been successfully installed, rendering a total 600 metres of the massive infrastructure project visible.

The 150-metre long span was installed on pillar No 40 and 41 on Sunday morning.

Dewan M Abdul Kader, executive engineer of the project, said the installation work of the span was sucessfully completed around 10:30am as weather was good today (Sunday).



On Saturday morning, the span began its journey to Janjira point from Mawa construction yard and reached there by the evening. It was carried to Janjira point by one of the world’s largest floating cranes.

The first, second and third spans of the bridge were installed on Septerber 30 last year, January 28 and March 11 this year respectively.
