5-7 lakh workers to be sent to Malaysia: Minister

Staff Correspondent: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said 5-7 lakh workers will be sent to Malaysia after checking everything.

The Minister made the disclosure while addressing a programme at Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University on Tuesday afternoon.  

He said about 15 lakh Bangladeshi workers have completed registration to go to Malaysia. Some 5-7 lakh will be sent to Malaysia after scrutinizing.   

Shahriar Alam also said that many people go to foreign countries spending 6-7 lakh taka but, their dreams turn into frustration after going there when they face brutal reality.

There is a scope to go to foreign countries under the government project. Expatriates can earn much more legally, he added.
