5 held with 20,400 Yaba, 40kg cannabis in Gazipur

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel detained five people with 20,400 pieces of yaba pills and 40 kilogram of cannabis from Board Bazar and Tongi Hazi Mazarbosti areas of Gazipur.

The detainees are - Karimul Hasan Chowdhury, 55, son of late Hazi Abdur Rahim Chowdhury, Shirin, 35, wife of Jamal Uddin, Humayun Mollah, 29, son of Nowsher Mollah, Sabbir Ahmed, 22, son of Khalik Ahmed and Hridoy, 18, son of Md. Tipu.

RAB said acting on a tip-off that drug traders took place on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway, the law enforcers conducted drive in board bazaar area and detained four drug traders with 20,400 pieces of Yaba pills.



Besides, the elite force arrested another one from Haji Mazarbosti area of Tongi with 40 kilogram of cannabis on Sunday.
