54 held in Satkhira special drive

Satkhira Correspondent: Police in a special drive arrested 54 people including seven leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami to avoid sabotage after the verdict in a graft case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The arrests were made conducting a drive at different places in the district from Friday evening to Saturday morning.

Eight cases were filed in this connection on different charges.

Among the arrestees, twenty were arrested from Satkhira Sadar, seven from Kolaroa, two from Tala, four from Kaliganj, seven from Shyamnagar, four from Ashasuni, six from Debhata and four from Patkelghata police station.

Mizanur Rahman, inspector of Satkhira Special Branch of Police, confirmed the matter.
