6 Jabal-e-Noor buses seized

Staff Correspondent: After the cancellation of route permit of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have seized six buses of the paribahan from different parts in Dhaka as those vehicles did not have fitness certificate and registration papers.

The buses were seized after conducting operations in different parts of Dhaka on Saturday.

Mufti Mahmud Khan, Legal and Media Wing director of RAB, told media that the buses were seized as those vehicles did not have any fitness certificate and registration papers.

Drivers and helpers of the buses were brought in for interrogation, he added.

On July 29, two students of Shaheed Ramij Uddin Cantonment College were killed and 12 others injured as a bus ploughed through a crowd waiting for transports on Airport Road near Radisson Hotel in the capital.

Amid public outrage following the road accident, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on August 1 cancelled the route permit of the two buses of 'Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan' involved in the Airport Road accident.
