6 burnt in Kaliakoir gas cylinder blast

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: At least six people sustained burn injuries as a fire broke out at a cosmetics factory in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire originated at FM Cosmetics Limited in Madhyapara area of the upazila around 4:30pm.
Confirming the incident, Saiful Islam, sub-inspector (SI) of Mowchak Police Outpost under Kaliakoir Police Station, said so far, six burnt people were rescued with the help of local people and factory workers.
Different parts of their body were burnt to some extent, he added.
They were rushed to Kaliakoir Upazila Health Complex and other nearby clinics, he said adding the identities of the injured could not be known immediately.
Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service Akhteruzzaman said four units of firefighters have rushed to the spot after being informed over the incident and are working to douse the fire.
