6-km tailback on Dhaka-Chattogram highway

Cumilla Correspondent: A 6-km tailback was created on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway from Daudkandi Meghna-Gumti Bridge toll plaza of Cumilla on Friday, causing immense sufferings to the people.

Daudknadi highway police officer-in-charge Abul Kalam Azad said three-day long traffic jam was ended on Thursday evening. But, the traffic was created again on Thursday night when a truck accident took place in Bhaber Char area of Munshiganj.

The pressure of vehicles has increased on highway ahead of Eid. Police are trying to ease the congestion, said Abul Kalam Azad.
