6.7kg gold seized at Dhaka airport

Staff Correspondent: Customs intelligence officials seized 58 gold bars weighing 6.7 kilograms and detained a man in this connection at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The detainee is identified as Alam, a construction worker from Comilla district.

Dhaka customs authority confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

Sources said that Alam came from Bahrain this morning. Meanwhile, acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers stopped him when he was crossing green-channel and found the gold bars scanning his baggage. 

The current market price of the seized gold is Tk 3.35 crore.
