Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: Customs officials seized 52 gold bars worth around Tk 2.2 crore from an aircraft at Sylhet Osmani International Airport on Saturday morning.
Ahmedur Reza Chowdhury, an assistant commissioner of customs intelligence, confirmed the matter.
He said the gold bars, weighing 6.32 kilograms, were concealed in a box under a seat of Biman Bangladesh Airline’s flight BG-248 that arrived here from Dubai around 9:00 am.
No one was detained in this connection, he added.
