6th case filed against Dr Zafarullah

Staff Correspondent, Savar: Another case has been filed against Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury accusing him of extortion and illegal occupation.

This is the 6th case filed against the eminent citizen as earlier five other similar cases were filed against him.

A man named Tofazzal Hossain filed the case in this regard with Ashulia police station on Thursday.

According to the case statement, there are 2.17 acres of land of an institution named ‘Lager Medical’ just beside of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Trust. Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury allegedly tried to occupy the land since 2001.

‘Lager Medical’ owner Dr. Jahanara Ferdous Khan claimed that Dr Zafarullah also asked for Tk5 crore from her as extortion. 

Ashulia police station Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Haque Dipu confirmed the matter. However, the OC denied to put any comment in this regard.
