7 killed as nor’wester lashes Nilphamari

Staff Correspondent, Rangpur:  At least seven people were killed as nor’wester lashed three upazilas of the district on Thursday night.

Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Khaled Rahim confirmed the matter.

The deceased were identified as - Khodeza Begum, 50, Abdul Gani, 40, Jamirul Islam, 12, Afizar Rahman, 40, Ashikur Rahman, 22, Sumaiya Aktar, 27 and her three-month-old child Porimoni.

A number of houses were damaged and tress uprooted in the Domar and Dimla upazilas of the district during the storm.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer and other high officials have visited the damaged area.
