7-murder: Beauty wants quick execution of verdict

Staff Correspondent: Selina Islam Beauty, wife of the slain Narayanganj City councillor Nazrul Islam, wants quick execution of the Hight court (HC) verdict that upheld death for 15 people in the case.

Expressing her satisfaction over the verdict, she on Tuesday said, "I hope the judgment will be upheld in the Appellate Division as well. An example will be established through quick executing of the killers.  I expect of implanting the verdict as soon as possible."

She also thanked country's people and media men for being with her in the struggle of the trial.

Earlier in the day, the High Court (HC) upheld death penalty for 15 people including the main accused former Awami League man Nur Hossain and three former Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officials in the sensational Narayanganj seven-murder case.

Eleven other accused were sentenced to life-term imprisonment in the case.

The three RAB officials are the then commanding officer of Rab-11 in Narayanganj Lt Col Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, the then company commanders Maj Arif Hossain and Lt Commander Masud Rana.

The HC bench of Justice Bhabani Prasad Singha and Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam handed down the verdict.
