77 arrested with arms, bullets in Jessore

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: Police have arrested 77 persons with arms and bullets conducting drives at different places of the district.

Confirming the news, Jessore Superintendent of Police (SP) Anisur Rahman, said law enforcers arrested them conducting drives at different places under nine police stations of the district from Tuesday night to Wednesday noon.

Of them, 31 were arrested in Kotwali area alone.

Five in Chougachha, six in Sharsha, four in Jhikargachha, 12 in Benapole, four in Keshobpur, eight in Monirampur, four in Avoynagar and three were arrested under Bagharparha police station.

Police also seized two shooter guns, three rounds of bullets and huge drug materials in the drives.

All the arrestees were sent to jail through court at afternoon, said the SP.
