Staff Correspondent: Customs intelligence detained two people along with seven kilogram of gold from Sylhet Osmani International Airport and Benapole land port of Jashore on Friday.
The detainees' are- Mohammad Iqbal, hailed from Chattogram and Ranjan Saha, hailed from Kolkata of India.
Director General (DG) of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Dr Md Shahidul Islam told risingbd.com gold plates and 60 gold bars were seized in separate drives this morning.
Customs intelligence sources said acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers searched a flight from Oman BG-222 at Sylhet airport and found 60 pieces of gold bars. Meanwhile, a suspected gold smuggler was detained from the flight.
On the other hand, customs intelligence detained an Indian national named Ranjan Saha and found 5 gold plates weighing 374 grams of gold from his waist belt.
