9 killed as train hits microbus in Sirajganj

Sirajganj Correspondent: At least nine people were killed and six others injured as a train hit a microbus at a rail crossing in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj on Monday evening.

The incident took place around 6:45 pm.

Of the deceased, three have been identified and they are Altaf Hossen, 55, and his son Azam, 22 and microbus driver Swadhin, 28, son of Montu Sheikh.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ullapara Police Station Dewan Koushik Ahmed said, “Several people among the dead are in critical condition. They are undergoing treatment.”

Rail communications of Rajshahi division with other parts of the country remained suspended.
