Rajbari Correspondent: At least eight shops were gutted by fire at Arkandi Bazar under Bohorpur union of Baliakandi upazila in the district early Saturday.
Deputy Director of Fire Service Majharul Islam said the fire was originated from electric short-circuit and later the blaze spread to surrounding areas so rapidly.
On information, fire men rushed to the spot and doused the fire with an effort of 2 hours.
Shop owners estimated that the damage may be Tk 0.50 crore.
