9 Jamaat-Shibir men among 64 held

Bagerhat Correspondent: Police in a special drive detained 64 people, including nine leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, across Bagerhat on Thursday night.

Lutfar Rahman, the Officer-in Charge of Rampal police station said action on a tip-off that 10-12 Jamaat-Shibir men joined a secret meeting in a coaching center in Srifaltola of Rampal upazila, police conducted the drive and detained nine people.

Besides, Bagerhat district police control room said that police held 55 people from several upazilas on charge of various types of criminal activities.
