10 killed in Chattogram stampede

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: At least ten people were killed and 20 others injured in a stampede in Noluya union under Satkania upazila of the district on Monday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Sources said that about 15-20 thousands of people crowded in the area to get free iftar items.

Confirming the matter, Chattogram deputy commissioner (DC) Mohammad Ilias Hossain told risingbd.com, "We are heading toward the spot."

The injured were sent to local hospitals for treatment, he added.

Chattogram police super Nur-e-Alam Mina said that all the victims are female.
