ACC chief for action against bribe takers at field level

Staff Correspondent: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmud said, “Bribe takers and corrupt people at field levels will be brought under law based on intelligence information. They will not be given any chance to harass innocent officials.”

The ACC chairman came up with the comment at a view exchange meeting at the conference room of Chandpur deputy commissioner on Wednesday.

Iqbal Mahmud said, “Around 30 government employees and staff were arrested in trap case filed in 2017. The Commission formed a Detective unit in 2017 in a bid to bring dynamism in its spontaneous fight against corruption and misdeeds in the country. This year, bribe takers and corrupt people at field levels will be brought under law based on intelligence information. They will not be given any chance to harass innocent officials. Even no one will be able to create any influence on the anti-graft body.”

The meeting was attended by district level officials, representatives of civil society and representatives of different stages of local government.
