ACC summons bank statements of 8 BNP leaders among 10

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned bank transaction statements of eight top leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) among 10 people.

The watchdog body on Wednesday served separate letters to seven banks seeking their bank statements to investigate into the allegation of Tk 125 crore suspicious transaction in 30 days.

A top source of ACC confirmed this to risingbd.

The banks were asked to provide statements are HSBC, Standard Chartered, Dutch-Bangla, National, First Security Islami, Arab Bangladesh and Dhaka Bank.

People whose statements were summoned are BNP Standing Committee member Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Nazrul Islam Khan, vice-president Abdul Awal Mintoo, Morshed Khan, joint secretary general Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, executive member Tabith Awal, Morshed Khan’s son Faisal Morshed Khan and Dhaka Bank managing director (MD) Syed Mahbubur Rahman.
