AL activist shot dead in Savar

Staff Correspondent: An activist of ruling Awami League is gunned down by unidentified miscreants in Noyarhat area of Savar in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim, 40.

Locals sources said that there was an dispute between Pathalia union chairman and Awami League leader Parvej Dewan centering Jhut business. Following the dispute, followers of Dewan opened fire aiming Abdur Rahim this noon, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was taken to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Ashulia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohsinul Kadir confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
