AL files 281 nominations, BNP 696

Staff Correspondent: A total of 3,065 aspirants submitted their nomination papers to the returning officers to participate in the forthcoming 11^th parliamentary election slated for December 30.

Of the aspirants, 281 candidates filed nominations on behalf of AL, 696 on behalf of BNP, 233 on behalf of Jatiya Party and 1,357 from other parties.

498 aspirants submitted their nominations to contest the polls as independent candidate.

Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed made the disclosure while briefing reporters at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon on Thursday evening.
