AL forms monitoring cell in 64 districts

Senior Correspondent: The ruling Awami League (AL) has formed a monitoring cell in 64 districts each to ensure optimum services to dengue patients and implement effective measures to resist dengue outbreak.

Alongside, another monitoring cell has been opened at the ground floor of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) at the capital’s Topkhana Road to gather information over dengue across the country and to provide treatment to the affected people.

The news was revealed by press relased signed by BMA Chairman Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin on Friday.

People are requested to call on 01314 838 636 to inform about dengue.

Earlier on August 3, AL formed a 22-member central monitoring cell in this regard.

A five-point programme was taken to prevent dengue outbreak that includes- forming a monitoring cell comprising of AL leaders and expert physicians in every district, creating public awareness, encouraging physicians, nurses and other health workers, arranging for logistic supports necessary in coordination with the government and ensuring necessary number of physicians, nurses and other health workers in every district.
