AL infighting leaves 12 hurt in Munshiganj

Munshiganj Correspondent: At least 12 people were injured during a clash between two groups of the Awami League in Purbapara area of Mirkadim in Munshiganj.

Sources said former upazila vice chairman Monsur Ahmed Kalam joined a namaz-e-janaza. After the funeral program, supporters of Kalam and former municipality mayor Shaheen locked into an altercation and clashed around 9:30pm on Friday night, leaving 12 people injured. 

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Alamgir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Munshiganj Sadar police station said additional policemen were deployed in the area.
