AL places 11-point proposal before EC

Staff Correspondent: The ruling Awami League (AL) has placed its 11-point proposal before the Election Commission.
Obaidul Quader, party general secretary and also Road Transport and Bridges minister, said this to the journalists after a meeting with Election Commission on Wednesday.
As part of the ongoing dialogue, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda held the meeting with a delegation of Awami League over holding the next general election in a credible manner.
The dialogue began around 11:00am on Wednesday at the conference room of Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital with Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda in the chair.
A 21-member Awami League delegation, led by its General Secretary Obaidul Quader, joined the dialogue.
The other members of the AL delegation included Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Mohammad Nasim, Matia Chowdhury, HT Imam, Mashiur Rahman, Abdur Razzak, Faruk Khan, Ramesh Chandra Sen, Mohammad Jamir, M Rashidul Alam, Mahabub-ul-Alam Hanif, Dipu Moni, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abdur Rahman, HN Ashiqur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Abdus Sobhan Golap and Riazul Kabir Kawsar.
The EC on August 24 last started dialogue with 40 registered political parties, which will conclude on Thursday next. The EC already had talks with 37 parties including BNP.
