Abdul Hamid takes oath this evening as president for second term

Senior Reporter: President Abdul Hamid will be sworn in as the head of the state for a second consecutive term this evening as parliament unanimously decided to entrust him with the presidency for another tenure.
The oath-taking ceremony will take place at 7:30pm on Tuesday.
Jatiya Sangsad speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will administer his oath at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, former presidents of the country, judges, Cabinet members, lawmakers, senior politicians, diplomats and other dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony.
Earlier, Abdul Hamid was elected the President on April 22, 2013 and sworn in as the 20th President on April 24, 2013.
He took the responsibility of the President in-charge on March 14, 2013 while the then President Md Zillur Rahman was under treatment in Singapore. After the death of Zillur Rahman, he became the Acting President on March 20, 2013.
Abdul Hamid will take the oath of office as the 21st President making a new history as the President of Bangladesh for second term.
