Afsana laid to rest beside Abid Sultan

Staff Correspondent: US-Bangla plane crash victim pilot Abid Sultan’s wife Afsana Khanam has been laid to the eternal rest beside her husband’s grave at the Banani military graveyard in the capital.

Her namaz-e-janaza was held at Uttara-13 around 5:15pm on Friday. Later, she was buried beside Abid Sultan’s grave.

Afsana Khanam died at National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in Agargaon of the capital around 9:30am on Friday.

She was kept on life support at the hospital. She underwent surgeries for two times as she suffered brain stroke twice.

Pilot Abid Sultan and Afsana Khanam couple left a son named Tanzid Sultan Mahi. He lost his mother 10 days after his father died by a plane crashed in Nepal.

On March 12, at least 51 people were killed, including 26 Bangladesh nationals, when a US-Bangla Airlines plane crashed in Nepal’s Tribhuvan International Airport. Besides, 10 more Bangladeshis were also injured in the incident.
