Agora Chairman Niaz sent to jail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent superstore chain Agora’s boss Niaz Rahim to jail for selling adulterated food.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbub Sobhani, judge of the Pure Food Court in Dhaka, passed the order on Thursday.

Rahim has been ordered one-year jail terms and slapped a fine of Tk 50,000 each in separate two case.

The lawsuits were filed in 2008 over adulterating ghee.
