An open letter to a teenager

Saima Pervin: Teenage is the age when life seems to be an island of fireflies, a constant lightning of new hopes and dreams. It's a period when you just listen your own soul, crave to meet those captivating desires that keep burning in your mind. The age is a new phase of meeting and creating friend-zone, exploring the old era in new shape, yearning to know the unknown and see the unseen.

A new realization, knowing every bits of inner self, discovering a strange you, not like the years back you were, you have started to think out of the box, you look into the mirror with a little smile on your face, spend a little more time dressing up, becoming aware of how you looking like.

The thoughts in your mind sometimes betray, your parents are not always right now. They have begun to keep a cautious eye and you are fed up. If these all are what you feel, then let me ask you something. Have you ever judged the way you feel? Have you ever foreseen where you want to see you in future? Do you believe time has the fastest speed of all vehicles?

Do you really trust your parents and teachers as your best friends in true sense? No, don't get upset, I am not going to advise you. It's just a message. Pay heed to your soul what it says about your every step. Listen your mind before taking any action. Ask your conscience if you have chosen right friends. Take a book from the shelf. Don't be drowned with the tide of this new wave. Stay yourself and build a world of pride and brilliance.
